PREVENT A LIFE-THREATENING TRAUMA FOR YOUR PET WITH A GASTROPEXY SURGERY.
A Gastropexy can be surgically performed two different ways; traditional, and laparoscopic (minimally invasive). A Gastropexy is the process of attaching a small portion of the stomach to the abdominal wall to prevent twisting of the stomach in the event the stomach becomes bloated. Stomach torsion occurs when the stomach of your dog becomes over filled with gas or food and twist on itself. When a torsion occurs, this becomes life threatening and often results in death. The breeds most common for bloat and/or torsion includes those who are large breed and deep chested. Some of these breeds are known as the German Shepherds, Great Danes, Doberman Pinchers, Labrador Retrievers, and Standard Poodles.
