A Laparoscopic Gastropexy is a non-invasive preventative surgery for stomach torsion. Stomach torsion occurs when the stomach of your dog becomes over filled with gas or food and twist on itself. When a torsion occurs, this becomes life threatening and often results in death. The breeds most common for bloat and/or torsion includes those who are large breed and deep chested. Some of these breeds are known as the German Shepherds, Great Danes, Doberman Pinchers, Labrador Retrievers, and Standard Poodles.
